Meet your coach

Hi, I’m Martin

I’ve been where I’m sure many of you have been: struggling with injury, being unable to perform the sports I love doing, being unhappy with my body and not knowing what to do next.

I seemed to go from one injury to the next in my youth, with scans and medical examinations showing up as inconclusive. This led me to develop a keen interest in the deeper mechanisms of the human body, mechanical aspects of injury, neurological implications, and overall holistic wellbeing.

This knowledgebase, coupled with my previous work as a tennis coach, led to the natural progression of becoming a coach who specialises in restoring your health, movement, and performance.

In May 2018 I suffered a major hip injury that also damaged most of the supporting tendons, leaving me in constant pain. I was unable to sleep properly, walk or even work, despite all the pain relief that I was taking.

This allowed me to fine-tune my process over the seven months that followed, putting all my acquired knowledge of rehabilitation to trial on my own body, and finally stepping onto a bodybuilding stage pain-free after five months in April 2019.

MY PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION

This knowledgebase, coupled with my previous work as a tennis coach, led to the natural progression of becoming a coach who specialises in restoring your health, movement, and performance.

In May 2018, I suffered a major hip injury that also damaged most of the supporting tendons, leaving me in constant pain, unable to sleep through the night, walk or work even with pain relief.

  • FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

What will I need to do before starting?

Once we’ve had our consultation and decided on the perfect approach for you, there will be a few things we need to do before starting

    1. Joiner Form, I’ll send you a digital copy of the required joiner form, which goes more in depth into the information required for me to effectively set up your best approach

    2. Based off your Physical Activity Readiness Questionnaire (PAR-Q) answers and if you have ongoing medical conditions, you’ll need a letter from your GP clearing you for physical activity

    3. For a complete understanding of health, blood work is recommended. My recommendation is to use the following if you’re UK based https://www.youth-revisited.co.uk/individual-test/competitive-athlete/

Once those steps are complete, we’re ready to run through your induction into the programme!

How many sessions a week will I need?

Consistency is going to be one of the most important factors in your health optimisation, rehabilitation and body transformation journey so the approach that we take has to be sustainable. But it also has to have enough of a change to get you away from what caused the issues in the first place. You can’t get well in the same environment that made you unwell.

Do I need to be a member of a Gym?

You don’t need to be a member of a gym to benefit from the programme! All of the lifestyle, nutrition and training can be modified to your availability and needs

Martin fully understands that being a good athlete involves good training, nutrition, and recovery.

His holistic and rounded approach to training has not only made me a better, more educated athlete but a happier powerlifter. If you’re looking for someone to fix an injury and make you a more rounded and stronger athlete, I’d recommend Martin.
